How do I get my dog certified is she is a PTSD dog.
I have had so much confusion.
She is trained to hug me when I am anxious, to get in my face when I dissaciate, especially when driving.
But I’m told she has to go through testing by the AKC. Is this true?
I and my husband trained her because AKC training is too expensive, and I am on disability. I have a letter from my phsyciatric nurse practitioner that says she is an emotional support dog, but everyone is cracking down on emotional support dogs like they are fake.
What do I need to do to have her legally certified as a support animal in the State of Nevada?

What you have is an emotional support dog not a therapy dog, therapy dogs visit senior centers hospitals etc to cheer folks up. Your recommendation letter does certify your dog legally as an emotional support animal. If you keep up the training your dog will qualify as a service animal. Here is a good article about training;

I am trying to get my German Shepherd (Certified to highest level of Schutzhund off leash obedience) certified as both my Service dog and a therapy dog. I have epilepsy and she, without any training from me, alerts me to impending seizures. It took me a bit to realize what she was trying to tell me but she has done it 3 times now. My seizures ALWAYS happen right when I wake up but I still lost my license. If I have a seizure predicting dog, I will be allowed to drive again! Also, she has such a calm and sweet demeanor that I think she would make a wonderful therapy dog. She ia just an amazing dog all around. I adore her and still can’t believe she’s main!
